OK, so I'm still really, surprisingly upset about the Patriots losing the Super Bowl. I have nothing against Eli Manning and the Giants. I think they played an incredible game and pulled off an unbelievable upset in the last minute of the biggest game in all of sports. A real yeomen's effort. Anyone who can sack Tom Brady 5 times in one game commands respect of the highest order. I also think the Pats were hurt by some miserable calls from the officials, but that's everyone's excuse when their team loses. Suck it up...

Usually, I only really care about baseball, but being a son of Vermont, I'm a fan of all the New England teams - Red Sox, Celtics, Pats. I loved seeing Boston tack on another World Series win this year, but I would have liked to see the Pats toss in an NFL championship on top of it, too. Maybe the Celtics will go all the way.

What really sucked for me about this was the fact that we missed seeing history made. Well, we DID see it. They went 18-1. Still the best record EVER in the NFL. Miami's undefeated 1972 season was only 17-0 because they played fewer games back then. But it could be another 30 or 40 years before we ever see anyone get a shot at a 19-0 undefeated season again.

I don't care who it is. Hell, I'd even root for the Dallas Cowboys if they go into the Super Bowl with an 18-0 record. I just want to see someone DO it! Just for the sheer historical significance and, well, artistic, aesthetic perfection of the thing - that "0" in the losses column. I just wanted to see it in my lifetime, but now I might not get the chance. This doesn't happen very often. Oh, well. I guess a lot of people lived and died in the 86 years between Red Sox World Series wins...

A perfect season is, of course, impossible in baseball. They play 162 games in the regular season. Can't very well win them all, though the Red Sox sure tried last year, and won almost 70% of 'em. But football? Someone will pull it off someday.

Just sorry it wasn't my New England boys. My mom lives about 20 minutes from their stadium in Foxboro. She said people were walking around wearing black armbands on Monday morning after they lost...

Bah!

Well, I was supposed to have dinner last weekend with someone who I REALLY want to model for me, but she didn't feel well and couldn't make it. Oh, well, we'll get together eventually. I really need some new material! Been kinda blah and uncreative feeling lately, but it'll pass as the days get longer!
